Altenew Build A Garden Pristine Peonies

Hello friends and happy day after Thanksgiving! I’m just popping in with two cards I made for the Altenew November Inspiration Challenge.

I love these colors and since I had a couple of days of for the Thanksgiving break, I played with the Build A Garden Pristine Peonies set in two ways: ink blending and watercoloring. There are so many reasons to love this set: the big blooms, the ink blending stencil option, and the great sentiments are just a few.

The the Build A Garden Pristine Peonies set comes with coordinating stencil to use. this makes coloring up the bloom super simple once you pick out the colors you are going to use.

Since I am playing along with the challenge, I used the Cherry Blossom ink set, Shades of Purple, and Lapis Lazuli. I started with the lightest colors first and then blended the darkest on top. The Mini Blending Brushes are great for getting in the small spaces. I added a little colored pencil shading in the corners and stamped the sentiment in the set.

On my second card I used the Altenew Watercolors to paint up the beautiful bloom.

I love the watercolors because they match the inks so well. I stamped the peony in Pink Diamond and then watercolored it up.

Once my image was dry, I stamped the sentiment, added some gray pencil shading and some purple splaters to finish my card.

My end result, two similar cards with different and fun techniques. I love how versatile this stamp set is and can’t wait to use it for some more cards. Which one is your favorite?
