Dots & Diamonds

Happy Friday. I’m over on the Topflight Blog today with a fun card I made using the Hunkydory Dots to Diamonds Pad. These pads have so many fun designs to work with and create unique cards using pretty gems.

These gems are so pretty and the colors are beautiful. To start I masked the leaves of the flower and then blended in the Prism inks using Blue Lagoon, French Navy, and Purple Velvet. These pads are really easy to use for blending and I love the deep colors.

Once my ink dried a little, I removed the mask on the leaves and used Copics to color them up. Then I got to work putting on these beautiful gems. Special note about the gems: they have a little adhesive on the back but I found it helpful to use a little glue to ensure they stay put on your creation. Also for the small gems I used a Silhouette Pick Up Tool to help place them.

Once the glue was dry, I stamped my sentiment from Visible Image and white heat embossed it. I cut the panel down a little to fit on a card base as the pads are 6×6 in size.

If gems aren’t your jam (lol) you can also use Nuvo drops or other supplies in your stash to create fun looks. Here I experimented with some fun colors to see how Nuvo drops would work.

I was happy with the outcome but had a little Nuvo mishap when a bottle rolled into some dots. No worries, I just cut down the panel a bit after the drops dried.
