Snowflakes in July

Happy Friday! I hope you had a good week, I’m over on the Topflight Stamps blog creating Christmas cards. I made several cards using the Darkroom Door Snowflake Background stamp along with the Christmas Sentiment Strip.

I started by using PaperArtsy Infusions, which are watercolor powders that are activated with water on watercolor paper. I used In the Navy and Raspberry Infusions on and played around until I was happy with the look. I love these colors both on their own but also mixed.

For my first card, I used the background that contained both In the Navy and Raspberry infusions. I stamped the Snowflake background and heat embossed it with WOW! Embossing powder that I mixed by adding Gold Pearl and the WOW! Changers Glisten. This mixture created a lighter color and added some sparkle to the powder.

I stamped the sentiment strip, heat embossed it in white and added it to my card with foam tape.

For my second card, I used only the PaperArtsy In the Navy Infusion with the Snowflake background.

I love the way the embossing powder lightens up the background for a stormy look and the beautiful brown from the infusion powder.

This time I used WOW! white embossing powder along with the Glisten for a lighter and shimmery white. I masked off part of the sentiment strip and white heat embossed it.

For my last card I used the Raspberry Infusion for my background for a brighter card.

I used the same background stamp and this time added a little more white embossing powder and less of the glistening powder to create a brighter snowflake.
