I’ve been busy taking the Kit & Clowder monthly coloring class and have been learning lots of great techniques both for markers and pencils. I decided to put my new skills to paper and color The Ton’s Dalhia Close Up image for the The Ton September Challenge Mood Board.
First I stamped the image on Strathmore Toned Gray paper with Hero Arts Soft Granite. Then I selected some Faber Castell Polychromos in reds, oranges, and yellows to match the challenge colors. I laid down the darker colors and ended with the lightest making the center of the flower lightest to give it an Autumn glow.
After I was done coloring the image, I used my Simon Says Stamp Square die and cut the image down. I wanted to keep all of the beautiful flower, so I popped the center up with some foam.
I used some vellum and heat embossed the sentiment from The Ton’s Get It Girl using Brutus Monroe Penny Shimmer embossing powder. At the end, I added a couple of sequins to the card to add a little shine.
Thanks for reading and hope your fall is going well.
