Happy Friday! I’m over on the Topflight Stamp blog today.  Last week I had the opportunity to attend Creativation for the first time. It was a wonderful experience and I had the chance to see the new products as well as watch artists create amazing projects. One of the artist I watched was Azoline Koopsen who made amazing backgrounds with the gel plate, Distress Oxides, and stencils or texture plates. Here is a card I made using the background technique. Here is a quick video showing the technique (still improving my video skills so it isn’t perfect lol)

I had so much fun with this techinique and made so many different background!

I used a gel plate and applied Distress Oxides to it with a brayer. Once I was happy with the coverage, I used a texture plate and pressed it firmly onto the gel plate. I lifted it carefully and then applied my card stock and pressed it firmly down. The result is a soft background with a light texture.

Once my background was dry, I stamped my images in Versafine ink and heat embossed them with clear sparkle. For the heat in the stamp, I used Versamark ink and heat embossed it with Emerald Creek’s Kiss of the Fairy.

I love how well all the Carabelle stamps go together. I used this fun Rafistolerie with the My Stamp on top of my gel plate background.

I colored the fairy with a combination of Prism Brush Markers,which are water based, and Zig Markers.

I finished the card with some additional sparkle using Hunkydory Sparkle Gems.
