Gel Press with Visible Image

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I’ve been having lots of fun with making backgrounds with my gel press. Today I’m playing with some Visible Image stencils and stamps to make some more fun gel press backgrounds.

I love the soft look of the gel press background with the distress oxides. To start off I used Bristol smooth paper and then picked out some Distress Oxide inks and used a brayer to apply them to my gel press. If you want a deeper color just repeat the process. For my first card I used Fress Squeezed Lemonade and Lucky Clover. Once I was happy with the background, I added the Collision stencil and pressed that on top of the inked gel press.

I then used Verafine ink and stamped the eye image from Where Dreams Take You and heat embossed it with WOW Black Glint for a sparkly look.

I added the sentiment with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with WOW Midnight Dream.  I added a little gel pen to the white part of the eye and finished the card with some ink blending on the edges with Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide.

For my second card, I used the same gel press technique with Distress Oxides in Picked Raspberry and Peacock Feathers. This time added theButterfly Ink stencil and a second coat on the gel press with Picked Raspberry and Wilted Violet.

I then added the sentiments from a Beautiful Soul to the side of the butterfly with white ink.

I added the center sentiment from the Brave and Strong set with Versamark ink and  I heat embossed all of the sentiments in white.

To add a little more texture to my card, I used the circle stamp from the Life is Beautiful set and added it to the card in the same Distress Oxide inks.
