Lindy’s Gang January Color Challenge

Happy New Year friends! I hope you have a great year filled with lots of craftiness! It’s a new year and a new month so its time for the Lindy’s Gang Challenge.

I love these new colors and although they don’t have a shimmer the colors are amazing. I made two cards with this beautiful set of colors because I couldn’t decide on what color to use. I used the Altenew Golden Days Hot Foil plate with both gold and silver foil.

I started with watercolor paper and heated up my Glimmer Hot Foil System. I was a little worried that the thick watercolor paper wouldn’t take the foil, but it was perfect.

I painted up the silver image first and used the Kissin’ Couple Crimson, Alive & Kissing Cobalt, and Das Werk Wine for my flower. After I was done blending my flower colors, I used the Fairy Fluff spray to add shimmer all over the flower. This also blended the flower colors some more and I went back and added some shading.

For the middle of the flower I used Gustav’s Gold Leaf and for the background I used Every Picture Teals a Story. When everything was dry, added some white acrylic paint splatters and the Altenew Billowing Peonies sentiment heat embossed with Lindy’s Slam Dunk Silver.

For my second card I used the gold hot foil image and watercolored the bloom in Das Werk Wine and Every Picture Teals a Story. I love these colors together and it really makes the flower pop.

After I was done blending my flower colors, I used the Fairy Fluff spray again to add shimmer all over the flower. This also blended the flower colors some more and I went back and added some shading.

For the middle of the flower I used Gustav’s Gold Leaf and for the background I used the gold around the flower to give it a glow and then used Das Werk Wine and Alive & Kissing Cobalt. When everything was dry, added some white acrylic paint splatters and the Altenew Billowing Peonies sentiment heat embossed with Lindy’s Gimme Five Gold.
