Foil Quill and Digital Images

Hello friends, today I’m over on the Joy Clair blog experimenting with my We R Memory Keepers Foil Quill. This is one of those tools, that when it came out, I just had to have. But to be honest, I haven’t used it as much as I thought I would. Well that changes today lol. I used the Forever Moments digital file for my card today.

Details

I used the Silhouette Studio program to open and create my layout with the Forever Moments set. When thinking about an image to choose, it is important to select one with clean lines. Once you select the image, the Silhouette program has a “trace” function that allows you to select the image and trace it or turn it into lines.

This allows the Silhouette Cameo machine to draw the image. I inserted my foil quill into my Silhouette machine to heat up. I then placed my black cardstock on my cutting mat and used washi tape to place the gold foil on top and let the machine do the rest.

I was really happy with how well all the lines of the beautiful Forever Moments image came out on the foil quill. Now on to my next experiment using some new watercolors I bought from Iuile Watercolors.

These watercolors are amazing on dark cardstock so I thought I would try them on my card. What do you think?Ā Ā  I love how they change color depending on the way you look at the card.

Check out the Joy Clair store for more beautiful digital images. Use my coupon code “StrangelyCreative” for 5% off your purchase.
