Flower Challenge Summer/Winter

Happy 4th of July! I hope you are having a fun weekend. It’s time for another Flower Challenge and this month is all about:

Our guest designer this month is Mac Mable so go check out her beautiful creations!

I created two cards today – one for Summer and one for Winter.

I applied Frayed Burlap and Peacock Feather on the the gel plate and used a brayer to spread the ink around. I spritzed a little water on the the gel press and pressed the paper down.

I love this color blend and thought that it would be perfect to use with the Heidi Swapp MINC Toner Ink and Picket Fence Barberton Daisy. I then used the toner ink on my craft mat and a brayer to apply it to my stamp. Tim Holtz has a bunch of awesome MINC hacks you can find here.

I then ran the image through foil machine with teal foil and was left with this beautiful image. I love the detail you can get with the MINC toner ink. You also get a beautiful image left behind on the foil so, yep you guessed it, I made another card.

For my summer card I used a background I had blended with Distress Oxides and the Picket Fence blending brushes. I used Distress Oxides in Concord Grape, Picked Raspberry, and Scattered Straw. I then sprayed the background with Distress Resist Spray and set it aside to dry.

Once dry, the spray heats up to bond with the foil once it is ran through the foil machine or laminator. I love that I can now use these beautiful sheets on a card without having to worry about gluing them.
