The Flower Challenge Reminder

Happy Wednesday! Its time for the reminder post for The Flower Challenge. This month our theme is ‘Spring/Autumn.”

Here is my card for the reminder post.

I used the Rose Tag image from Bugaboo and printed it on Copic friendly paper. This image is so pretty and I love the thick lines and swirls.

I started by coloring the rose first and then filled in the rest with complementary colors. Initially I was going for a spring look but after I finished the background it became more of a autumn look instead. Here is the image and my experiment trying to figure out the color for the background.

The Copic blends I used are as follows:

Roses – RV19, RV17, RV14, RV13, RV11

Leaves – BG75, BG49, BG34, BG34. BG23

Background – E04, E95, E93, YR01, E000

Once I was finished with the Copic coloring, I used some colored pencils for shading as well as highlighting the beautiful lines in this digital image. I also used black pen and a white gel pen for added accents.

I had the “Happy Birthday” sentiment printed from a Gracielle Design and colored it up in a similar fashion to match my background. I added some black cardstock on the back to help it stand out against the background.

I finished the card with a couple of clear drop embellishments and added doted lines around the image to tie it all together. Thanks for stopping by and don’t forget to check out the fabulous cards from my design team members! Have a wonderful and healthy day.
