Hello friends! Its March 1st which means it is time for another fun Lindy’s Gang Color Challenge!

This month it is all about using the Alexandra’s Artists set. This is a new set for me and I love the soft muted colors and had fun creating an abstract card.

I got the inspiration for my card from Martina Manger and watching her create a similar background for a card. She was able to leave some white space on her background, a feat I am still trying to master lol. I started with watercolor paper and added some white gesso to portions of it to give it a texture. I painted my background up with Lara’s Wild Malve, Jana’s Jade, Martina’s arigold, and Andrea’s Azaleas.

After my paper dried, I went over the swatches a second time with the same color to darken some of them up. When that layer was dry, I used the PaperArtsy PS418 stencil and traced it with a black Posca pen.

I filled in the leaves with the black pen and left a little bit open for a colorful highlight. I added some white and black pen embellishments and finished my card with this fun sentiment from AALL & Create.

Thank you for stopping by and don’t forget to play along with us this month!
