Stencil Valentines

Happy Friday! I’m over on the Topflight Stamps Blog today with a Valentines Day card. I hope you all made it through Christmas without too much stress and some good memories. I’m still working on packing all the decorations away but thought I’d take a break to make a Valentines Day card..

For my card today I used the PaperArtsy Stencil JOFY PS086 with some Distress Ink blending to make a unique background.

I love the look of ink blending and this stencil was fun to work with since it has two parts. I started out with Bristol Smooth paper and used Antique Linen Distress Ink to cover the whole panel. Then I used the mask part of the stencil to blend Victorian Velvet Distress Ink into the panel. I took the inner portion of the stencil and used Seedless Grape, Chipped Sapphire, and Black Soot to cover the rest of the panel.

I then add a spritz of water and lifted some of the ink off the panel to add additional texture. I started by stamping the sentiment with Versamark ink but found I didn’t get a clean impression when I tried to heat emboss, so I took out some vellum to add my sentiment. I attached the vellum with double sided tape and then added the ribbon that comes on my favorite wine bottle. (It’s just too pretty to throw away.)

I added some Hunkydory Precous Purple Gems  for a little shine to complete my card.
