Happy March! I hope you’re all enjoying a touch of spring wherever you are. With a new month comes a fresh creative challenge from Lindy’s Gang, and this time, we’re blending the soft elegance of lavender with the rhythm of music and stamps!
For this challenge, I had plenty of stunning lavender shades to choose from in my Lindy’s stash. The real challenge? Finding the perfect music-themed stamp. That’s when I stumbled upon the Butterfly Music stamp from Crackerbox Stamps, paired with the uplifting Dance Sing Love sentiment. It was love at first sight!
Two Cards, One Theme – A Play on Composition
Since I couldn’t stop at just one, I created two cards using the same stamps but switched up the composition for a little variety.
For both designs, I started with watercolor cardstock and heat-embossed the images with Lindy’s Bright White Embossing Powder. Then came the magic—literally! I sprinkled Waterlilies Lavender Magical Shaker on top, and let me tell you, this shade is the perfect mix of soft lavender with just enough depth to make the white embossing pop. Once the first layer dried, I added some Penguin Play Periwinkle Spray with a touch of Pemberly Pride Purple for extra dimension. I also used a little Lindy’s Hydrangea Blue Mauve Embossing Powder to add music notes around my card.
For my second card, I wanted to introduce a little grunge. I reached for an older AALL & Create stencil and lightly applied white paint through it. While it was still wet, I dusted some Teenie Weenie Bikini Magical on top, adding a bright yellow pop—a little unexpected but totally fun! I finished it off with some white paint splatters and a hand-drawn border for that extra artistic touch.
