Hello, creative friends! This month’s challenge was all about combining Texture + Painting with at least two Lindy’s products, and I couldn’t wait to dive in!
I had a gorgeous vintage-style printable from the GiraffeCreative Faded Poetry collection, and it was the perfect inspiration for my mixed media journal page.
I began by adhering the print to my journal and prepping the surface with clear and white gesso, ensuring a smooth base for layering color. Since my printer gave the image a slightly yellow tone, I painted over it with Clownfish Coral to warm it up and bring out richer hues. Around the image, I blended Cosmopolitan Pink, while Ears Lookin’ ‘Atcha Olive added subtle depth to her eyes and clothing, enhancing the vintage aesthetic.
To build texture, I stamped elements from the PaperArtsy Kate Crane 005 set, embossing them with clear powder for a raised effect. I then deepened the background with more Ears Lookin’ ‘Atcha Olive, making the embossing stand out beautifully. For even more dimension, I mixed Clownfish Coral with texture paste and applied it through the PaperArtsy Kate Crane PS428 stencil, adding a tactile, layered element to the composition. A final touch of Andrea’s Azalea around the textured areas infused my page with a soft, dreamy glow.
This project was such a joy to create, and I love how the Faded Poetry collection pairs so effortlessly with Lindy’s vibrant colors and textures. I can’t wait to experiment with more prints from this collection!
