Elegant Victorian Christmas Card with Lindy’s Gang Magicals

Hello, friends!
Happy November! With the holiday season around the corner, it’s time to kick off a new Lindy’s Gang Color Challenge.

This month, we’re working with the Victorian Bouquet Magicals—a collection with rich, classic tones that add the perfect vintage vibe to holiday projects. These colors inspired me to start on some Christmas card designs, and I couldn’t wait to experiment with them for a textured, elegant card background.

Creating the Background

I love finding new ways to layer Magicals for interesting effects. For this card, I began by saturating a piece of watercolor paper with water. Starting with a soft wash, I layered on color from the Victorian Bouquet Magicals, drying each layer between applications.

This process allowed me to build up a rich, multi-dimensional background with hints of shimmer—a perfect vintage canvas.

Adding Texture with Snowflake Mandala Stencil

Once my background was complete, it was time to add texture. I used the Gina K Snowflake Mandala stencil with texture paste to create a beautiful, intricate pattern. While the paste was still wet, I sprinkled it with Lindy’s Gang Gimme Five Gold embossing powder. After allowing it to fully dry, I heat embossed the pattern, and I was thrilled with the result! The gold detail adds a beautiful touch of warmth and elegance to the card, and the raised texture gives it a luxe, festive feel.

Finishing Touches
To keep the card cohesive, I used an older sentiment from my stash, embossing it with the same Gimme Five Gold powder. The gold accents tie everything together and really make the sentiment pop against the vintage-inspired background.
