Lindy’s Magical Shakers and Texture Paste

Hello gang! Ericka here and I hope you are doing well and enjoying warmer weather. Today, I am playing with texture paste and adding colors to it for my butterfly journal page.

Process:

1. I used a butterfly printable from Kate Crafts Store and adhered it to my page with Matte Medium. I also added some white gesso to the background to lighten up the printable.

2. Select a stencil and color for your background. I used a two different Tim Holtz stencils 032 and 077 for my page. I then took some texture paste and added a little bit of Magical Shakers colors in Lizzy’s Cuppa Tea Teal and spread it along my background. I repeated the process with the Magical Shakers in Pinkies Up Pink with a little Have A Scone Heather to make a light pink and applied it through the stencil on the butterfly.

3. When the texture paste is dry, added details with a white and or black pen. I drew a border to my page as well as roughly outlined the butterfly.

4. Optional – Once the texture paste is dry, you can add splatters to your background. I used one of my favorite colors Afternoon Delight Denim Shimmer Spray. I finished my page with a Tim Holtz sentiment.
