Lindy’s August Color Challenge

Hello friends! Today I have an inspiration post for the Lindy’s August 2023 Color Challenge.

I love these beautiful colors and had fun using the Altenew Ambridge Rose Embossing Folder along with the Lindy’s Gang That’s Marble-ous Chunky Embossing Powder to add texture to my card.

To create my card, I started with watercolor paper and sprinkled the Lindy’s Magical Shakers in Pinkies Up Pink to cover a portion of my background. FYI this color is also a part of the new Tea & Crumpets Magical Shaker set with plenty of gorgeous colors.

Then, while my paper was still damp, I used the Altenew Ambridge Rose Embossing Folder and ran it through my die cut machine.

I then sprayed Autumn Maple Crimson Shimmer Spray on to my pallet and then used a brush to add shading to my embossed image. Once my background was dry, I used the WOW! Embossing Mixed Media Brush to apply the Lindy’s Gang That’s Marble-ous Chunky Embossing Powder to my background. The Mixed Media brush is a thicker embossing ink to the chunky embossing powder worked really well. Another tip, with chunky embossing powder, make sure to heat it from the back of the paper which ensures the thicker pieces stay put and melt on to the paper.

I finished my card by adding a sentiment strip from Tim Holtz and using a distress crayon to lightly color it in.
