Visible Image Birthday Card

I hope you are all doing well! I can’t believe it is already May. There are several birthdays in my family in May and so I made a bright birthday card for my daughter who will be turning 8 this year. How is she already 8? Anyway back to my card.

To create my card I wanted to use the new release set called Afternoon Tea. I love this pretty slice of cake and thought it would pair perfectly with the Blow Out the Candles cake. I stamped them both in Gina K Kraft Amalgam ink and then used Distress Ink in Picked Raspberry (pink being my daughter’s favorite color) and Prize Ribbon to watercolor the images. I used Antique Linen with a little Spun Sugar to color in my cake to give it a light pink undertone.

I added a little gray shading around the cake and then stamped the awesome fork from the Afternoon Tea set. I used my white gel pen to add some details to the plate and frosting and then stamped the sentiment from the Blow Out the Candles set and clear heat embossed it.

I added sparkle around the candle using Gilded WOW! Embossing and then stepped back to look at my card. It needed something more, something that looked like a fun celebration, so I pulled out the new Bubbles & Fizz stencil, my embossing dauber and added some more fun with WOW! Embossing in Razzelberry and Gilded powders.

I added the other sentiment from the Blow Out Your Candles (I love the playful font) and clear heat embossed it. To finish my card, I used glossy accents on the frosting for some shine.
