Visible Image Cake Poetry

It’s finally spring here in Texas and I’m celebrating with cake, well at least a Visible Image cake.

I love the Blow Out The Candles set and decided to try to make a multi tiered flower cake to celebrate the growing season.

I started out creating my cake but I felt the celebration called for a 4 layer cake so I stamped the top layer of the cake with Gina K Amalgam Barely There ink in my MISTI making sure to mask off the bottom of the stamp so I wouldn’t include the plate. I then moved the cake image down and masked my stamped image so that the top portion of the cake would look like the middle icing.

I used my Zig watercolor markers to color up the cake and added a little Lindy’s Magical powder on the icing to give it a pretty shimmery pink color. I fussy cut my cake out and then started to work on my background.

I used the Lindy Magical powder in Drop Dead Gorgeous Green and added it along with some water to my craft mat. I used a plastic sheet and smooshed the color on to my background, drying between layers. I added a little Sassy Sapphire to the mix to give the background a little bit of blue.

While my background was drying, I stamped the roses from the Forever Love set and added some Magenta Magicals to them for color. Once they were dry I fussy cut them out to add to my card. I wanted a little bit of a rustic look, so I decided to take the log from the Nuts About Squirrels set and color it up with my Zig markers to stamp it twice to make a rustic wooden platter for my cake.

I added my cake to my background using foam tape for some dimension and then arranged my roses. I stamped the sentiment included in the Blow Out the Candles set to finish off my card.
