Happy New Year! I hope you are all doing well and have enjoyed the season. I’m heading to back to teaching this week, and while I enjoyed my break and sleeping in, it will be great to see my students again. A new year and new month means it is time for The Flower Challenge. This month our theme for January is
Our Guest Designer this month is the talented Jyoti do try and visit her blog/Instagram if you haven’t already as she makes such beautiful cards.
For my card this month I tried embossing with water and love the cool look it creates.

I started with creating my background with PaperArtsy Infusions which are watercolor powders. I lightly spritz my Bristol Smooth paper and add just a little of the Infusions on Emerald Isle.

While my paper was still wet, I sprinkled some WOW! Embossing Powder in Mai Tai (coming soon) onto portions of the wet background. The fine embossing powder sticks and melts when I used a heat gun to dry the background. the results are always different but I love the random flecks it gives the background.

Once the background was dry, I die cut it to a smaller square panel. I then stamped the Altenew Flower Garden on another piece of Bristol Smooth paper and heat embossed it in another new WOW! Embossing color called In the Navy.

I love the dark blue of the embossing powder and can’t wait to use it on more projects. I watercolored my flower and leaves with Zig markers and cut them with the corresponding dies.

To finish my card I used the Label Love set from Altenew and added gold sequins. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a chance to check out the amazing cards from the design team. Have a wonderful week!
