WOW! Embossed Hexagons

Happy October! I hope you are all doing well. I’m playing with WOW! Embossing powders to make an embossed panel card using the Pinkfresh Hexagon die from the Basic Label set.

I love the look of these beautiful embossing powders and thought it would be fun to make a card with solid images to focus on the textures of these unique powders.

I started by die cutting cardstock with the hexagon die. Once I had enough panels, I used the Seth Apter Mixed Media Embossing Brush to apply a thin coat on the panels. I used the following embossing powders: Glassy Ocean (part of the Jo Firth Trio Dockside), Skylight (part of the Catherine Pooler Trio Bundled Up) and Sea of Tranquility (part of the Seth Apter Trio Cosmic).

After I embossed the panel, while it was still hot, I dipped it back into the embossed powder to add a second layer of powder onto the panel. Adding a second layer of powder ensures the panel is covered and also gives it a thicker coating.

Before placing my panels on the card, I heat embossed the sentiment in Gold Pearl to tie in the gold from the Skylight Embossing Powder. I then placed the panels on with foam tape to finish my card.
