New Release Visible Image Stencils

Happy Monday! There is a fun release this week of some great Visible Image stencils. Today, I’m showcasing a several of the new stencils and different ways to use them.

For my first card I used the new Daisy Daisy stencil along with Mesh It Up.

I started with a gel press print that I had created with Distress Oxides and paint. Originally it wasn’t anything too great, but then I added embossing ink with my blending to the Mesh It Up stencil and sprinkled Bahamas embossing powder on it.

I love the chunky texture both the stencil and the embossing powder give the panel.

I then took some Bristol Smooth paper and the Daisy Daisy stencil and blended Distress Oxides in  Squeezed Lemonade, Dried Marigold, and Marmalade.

I cut the outline of the stencil out and stamped the sentiment from Beautiful Soul in black on the daisy.

For my second card, I used the same Daisy Daisy stencil but on a panel I created with Distress Oxide reinkers on photo paper.

For more information on how to create the background check out my blog post here. I then used the stencil and applied Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide lightly around the stencil with a blending brush.

I stamped the butterflies from the Wings of Change set in Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide. I also used the sentiment and stamped it in black archival ink.

I love the grungy but bright look the distress oxides have on the photopaper and the different layers.

For my third card, I used the Ripped Fishnet stencil and a panel I had made with alcohol ink.

I started by taking my alcohol ink panel and then using Alcohol Lift Ink on a foam blending pad and applying it through the Fishnet stencil. Then I took a soft cloth and started dabbing up the ink to lift it off.

I love the look this gave the panel and it was perfect for an underwater card.

I stamped the seahorse from the Creating Calm set and heat embossed it in Gold Pearl. I then stamped the sentiment from the Life is Beautiful set and attached it with foam tape.

For my forth card, I used the same Ripped Fishnet stencil but this time with Distress Oxides.

I used Bristol Smooth paper and post it tape to mask off a section of my card. I then tool Distress Oxide in Cracked Pistachio and Peacock Feathers and blending the two colors together. I then used the Fishnet stencil and Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide and blended it on top of the two colors.

I originally created the mermaid from the Mythical Mermaid set for the alcohol ink card but the image got lost in the dark background. Instead it was the perfect match for this card. I didn’t want the background of the mermaid to be white so I first blended Distress Oxides in Squeezed Lemonade, Peacock Feathers and Cracked Pistachio.

I stamped the image with Versafine ink and only heat embossed the portion on the mermaid I wanted to sparkle with Cloud 9 embossing powder.

I took a water brush and paper towel and removed the ink on a portion I wanted to be lighter. I then added some Zig Real Color Brushmarkers for added depth to the image and cut her out to use on my card.

I applied foam tape to the back and adhered her to the card base. I added the sentiment from the Wings of Change set to finish off my card.

For my last card I used the Words of Support stencil on a gel press panel I had created.

I added the flowers from the new Flower Art set in Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide. I used Nuvo drops to color in the flower. I used my blending tool and embossing ink and selected some words from the stencil to include on my card.

I didn’t want the words to be too bright, so I heat embossed them with Mint Macaroon that is a light pearl green. I also heat embossed the dragonfly from the Things With Wings set using the mixed media brush to add the Trio Cosmic Seth Apter embossing powder.
