Darkroom Door Warm Wishes

Happy Friday! I hope you are having a good week. I’m over on the Topflight Stamps blog playing with a couple sets from Darkroom Door to make two cards.

I love this Warm Wishes set and was inspired by a class I took from Rachel Greig at Darkroom Door when I was at Creativation this January, which by the way seems like it was so long ago, back when the world was normal.

I often make lots of backgrounds and I had two leftover from a previous project and thought they would make a good background for my cards.

I made both cards at the same time so with similar stamping even though the colors are different. I started by stamping the flowers from the Warm Wishes set in black archival ink. I then used various element from the Number Medley and stamped them in black on my background.

I used texture paste on the green and blue cards and the Lava Paste on the pink card to see the difference it would make on my cards. Special note – you can heat set the Lava Paste to make it puff up adding more dimension to your card.

I stamped several images from the Global Postmarks on a separate piece of paper and sprayed them with Antique Linen and ground Espresso Distress Oxide Sprays to age them. I the cut them out and attached them to my card once the texture paste was dry.

I love the unique look and how easily it is to mix and match these stamps on a card. I stamped the sentiments and mounted them on black to help them stand out from my busy background.

To finish my cards, I added a little paint splatters and white gel pen on the flower to help it pop.
