Happy Monday! Today I’m playing with some Visible Image sets to make some Masculine “Social Distancing” Birthday cards. We won’t be able to be there in person but are still sending out some happy thoughts. My first card is using the Robot Data set and playing along with Rainbow Challenge over on the Visible Image Facebook Group.
I love this set and thought the Robot would be perfect for a fun birthday card for my nephew. I started with making the background and used Bristol Smooth paper and some new Karin Brushmarkers I just bought. I love the bright intense colors these markers have and they are so easy to use.
I started by scribbling some color down in and then took my spray mister and added water to the background. Once it dry, I added a little more color to certain areas and then set aside to dry. Once it was dry, I added some black splatters to add some depth to my background. I also added some of the code text in white ink in random sections of the background.
I then stamped the robot on a separate piece of paper with Versafine ink and heat embossed him with WOW! Embossing Space Dust. I love the color and shine the embossing gives my robot.
I used the grays and a little black to watercolor my robot and fussy cut him out to attach to the cardbase with foam tape.
I stamped the sentiment with Versafine ink and clear heat embossed it to help it stand out.
For my second card, I used the I’ve Got A Text set. For this card I started with Bristol Smooth paper and stamped the phone in Black Archival Ink.
I then added the text bubble in green ink and stamped the sentiment in embossing ink to white emboss it. I wanted to add a background so masked the phone and used the Square Route stencil with Distress Oxide.
I put down a layer of Salty Ocean Distress Oxide and then laid the stencil down and blended Peacock Feathers and Cracked Pistachio. I added some water splatters as well to the background.
I was feeling like the sentiment was getting lost in the light green so used a black pen to add a little shading to the letters and heart as well as some white gel pen.
I finished my card with some blue gem embellishments and its ready to send out to the birthday boy!
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful week. Take care and stay healthy!
