WOW! Embossing April Creative Guest

Happy April 1st.  I have some exciting news to share (and no it’s not an April Fools joke). I’ve been asked to the the WOW! Embossing April Guest Designer! I’m thrilled and love all beautiful colors and variety of products of WOW! Embossing. It is amazing how much embossing powders can add to any project.

Now on to my card for today. I just received this beautiful set of Trio Dockside*Jo Firth Young collection and couldn’t wait to play with it.

I started out stamping my background with an old Concord & 9th set called Stripe Builder.  I stamped the middle stripe first and heat embossed it with the Sparkling Sand which has a beautiful shine to it. Then I stamped the other two stripes and heat embossed them with Glassy Ocean which has a blue translucent feel.

For the flower, I used the PaperArtsy JOFY 73 and stamped it with permanent ink so that I could watercolor it with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. I added extra details and shading with my colored pencils, white gel pen, and black pen.

I then added some fun embossing details using the Embossing Ink Pad Refill and paint brush. Here is a quick video on how I was able to add fine lines to my image.

Here is what the flower looks like after the embossing, I love the shine these embossing powders added to my flower.

I cut the flower out and added it to my card base with foam tape.

I then die cut a sentiment (3x and glued them together) from the Pinkfresh Classic Words set. I smooshed the layered die in the embossing pad so that I could heat emboss it with the Sparkling Sand. I repeated this step a couple times to ensure that my die cut was well covered.

There are so many great ways use the Embossing Pad Refill and I can’t wait to play with it on some more images.
