Distress Oxide Blending

Today I’m playing with a great Visible Image stencil called Renaissance and some Distress Oxide blending.

I love the fine lines on this stencil and there are so many great ways to use it. Today I decided to go with some masculine colors and used browns for my background.

I first used the Gathered Twig Distress Oxide and blended it into Bristol Smooth paper. This gave me a light brown background to work with. I then placed the stencil on my paper and blended Walnut Stain in the center and Ground Espresso on the edges of the stencil.

Once it was dry, I used the sentiment from the Brave and Strong set and stamped it in Versfine ink and clear heat embossed it. I added some paint splatters to the image and set if off to dry.

Once it was dry, I added some brown sequins in my stash along with some blues to add a little color.

I love the font of this sentiment and how well it goes with the stencil.
