Hearts

Happy Friday! I’m at Creativation with Topflight Stamps this week and so excited!  I’m over on the Topflight Stamps blog today with a quick card using the Heart Stencil from Alexandra Renke and Distress Oxides and some tips from Kathy Racoosin from her Online Card Class called The Coloring Challenge Roadtrip.

I love this stencil and it was so easy to blend the different Distress Oxide shades. I started with Bristol Smooth paper and used the Spun Sugar Distress Oxide to cover the whole background. Then I took the stencil and started blending with DOs in Picked Raspberry, Seedless Grape, Wilted Violet, and Dusty Concord.

I then tool Kathy’s class and decided to use colored pencils to shade part of the hearts.  She also talks about shading the image with grays so I decided to give that a try with Copics in C5, C3, C00, and C0000. I love how it made the hearts pop. Here is a comparison with and without the gray shading.

I used the Part of You sentiment from Darkroom Door and clear heart embossed it and added white gel pen. I finished the card off with some Hunkydory Sparkle Glitter Gems.
