Craftiness is Happiness

Happy Friday! I’m over on the Topflight Stamps blog today and playing with this MDF Life Quote from Debbie Moore.

I must admit that when I first got this I wasn’t sure what to do with it. As a card maker, it was a little intimidating to figure out where to start and how to make these beautiful words unique. In the end I decided to add paint and embossing powder for color.

I love how this came out and it was so easy to use the PaperArtsy paint.

To prepare the surface, I used two coats of gesso. I squirted Summer Sky and Twilight paint onto my craft mat. I added Summer Sky to the top and then mixed it with Twilight for an ombre look, and added Twilight to the bottom portion .

Once my paint was dry, I added some fun embossing powders to give the piece some sparkle and shine. I used the Embossing Dauber and sprinkled turquoise embossing powder (bonus that it had gold flecks) on the top portion. I used clear sparkle embossing powder for the bottom portion and then to add some more shine to my project I used White Pearl. After all, glitter and shine is important to happiness!
