Sunset Mermaid

Happy Thursday! I hope you are doing well, we’ve had a busy week with the first full week of school back in session. I’m not going to lie, its been hard getting back into the routine of things after a relaxed and easy going summer. I, however, did have the chance to play a little with this beautiful Mythical Mermaid set from Visible Image.

I love this gorgeous mermaid with her regal look and beautiful details.

I started by stamping her in Versafine ink and then using WOW Clear Sparkle embossing powder to add extra shine to the black.  I then took out my Shimmerz paints to add both color and even more shine to her. After all, mermaids should be shiny so more is always better in my book.

I used Shimmerz Tickle Me Turquoise and then added Bumble Bee to get a pretty blue to green to yellow look on her tail and top.

Then I used 1 Hot Mama and Pink a Boo on her hair to finish up the sparkle mermaid. I love the shine that both the embossing powder and the Shimmerz paints adds to her.

While my mermaid was drying, I worked on a background for my card. I wanted something simple so it wouldn’t distract from her beautiful shine. I used some Bristol Smooth paper and a circle stencil I made out of plastic and blended Distress Oxides in Dried Marigold, Ripe Persimmon, and Fired Brick.

I spritzed a little water on the paper and then added the mermaid sentiment in Versafine ink and heat embossed it in the same WOW powder. I fussy cut out my mermaid and attached her with some foam tape and then added a couple of sequins to finish off my card. Here is a closer look at her shine!
