Faerie Magic

Happy Monday! I hope you had a wonderful weekend and had a chance to craft a little. This weekend I played with this beautiful set from Visible Image called Faerie Magic. I love this faerie and played around with stamping her to give her a shimmery look.

To start off, I stamped the faerie image on Bristol Smooth paper because I wanted to use my Zig markers to color her. I masked off her face and used Verafine ink in my MISTI so that only her face was in dark ink since I wanted that it to stand out.

I then used Versamark ink and stamped the rest of the image and heat embossed it with Emerald Creek Kiss the Fairy Embossing powder that has a beautiful pink shine to it. I love using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to watercolor and used the following colors for my faerie: Dark Pink 027, Pink 025, Flesh Colour 071, Blush 069, Cobalt Blue 031, Light Blue 036, and Lemon Yellow 051. I love how easily these pens blend together to make interesting color combinations.

After cutting the faerie out, I made the background using Yupo paper and alcohol inks. Originally my plan was to make a soft pink and blue background, but as you can see, I got a little carried away with the colors. I used Pink Sherbet, Aqua, Turquoise, and Tranquil Alcohol inks.  I also stamped the faerie image and heat embossed it with the same powder so that I would have some of the details I cut away from my image. I  added gold foil at the end mainly because it’s a faerie and gold foil goes with everything lol.

I heat embossed her wings on vellum with the same embossing powder so they would be translucent. I then used foam tape to adhere the faerie and wings on to the alcohol ink background. I stamped the sentiment on vellum with Versfine ink and clear heat embossed that as well.
