Happy Thursday! I’m over at the Topflight Stamps Blog today with a fun technique using a Darkroom Door White Crayon and Distress Oxide Blending.
I’ve been playing with this white crayon and wanted to see how well the it would work with some ink blending and small flowers. I think it did a pretty good job. I stamped the image in Versfine Sepia ink on Bristol Smooth Paper and then used the white crayon to color in the small flowers to keep them white.
I blended the Distress Oxides using Milled Lavender closest to the flower, then Victorian Velvet, and Aged Mahogany on the edges. I set it aside to dry a bit and then took a paper towel to lightly wiped down the image, and the ink on the white crayon came right off, leaving white flowers!
I re-stamped the Versfine Sepia since it was in my MISTI to get a darker brown on the image and then added a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp. This is such a fun technique and I can’t wait to try it on some other images. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful rest of your week!
