Happy Monday! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! We have an fun and inspirational Blog Hop today with the New Design Team for Erin Lee Creative and there are prizes so be sure to check out the details below. I’m so excited to be working with these talented ladies!
I made two card for today’s Blog Hop using this lovely Peacock Background Stamp.
I love this Peacock background and all the fun ways you can use it. I choose to color it two different ways. Once with colored pencils on black cardstock and the other using alcohol inks.
For the first card, I used the background stamp with Versamark ink and gold heat embossed it. I then used a variety of colored pencils on the feathers. Here is what it looked like when I finished coloring.
I then used the hello die with some gold cardstock and black foam to pop it us from the background. To finish the card I used some gold and clear sequins to add a little more shine.
I love using the colored pencils on the black cardstock and the variety of colors you get.
For my second card, I started out heat embossing the background in gold on heavy weight Yupo paper. If you try this make sure that your heat tool is really hot so it limits the warping of the Yupo.
I started painting the alcohol inks on the yupo following the a color pattern. However, my painting got a little messy since it is hard to control the inks. So instead of throwing out my project, I decided to try spraying alcohol ink all over the painting and blowing the color around.
I love this look a lot better and the ways the colors mixed. To help the gold embossing to pop a little more, I re-stamped the image in my MISTI and re-embossed it so the gold wasn’t covered by the alcohol ink.
I finished the card with gold glitter paper die cut with the hello and adhered foam behind it as well. And there you have it, two fun ways to color this gorgeous background stamp.
