Embossing and Colored Pencils

It is the 15th of March which means it is time for another A Blog Named Hero Challenge. This will be my last challenge as a Design Team member and I have had so much fun participating and playing with all these wonderful Hero Arts supplies as well as working with the Design Team members!

This month’s challenge is: Embossing.

Here is the card I came up with for the challenge.

I started by stamping the background image on some Hero Arts Black cardstock in Versmark ink. I then heat embossed it in gold. I was inspired by Yana Smakula’s colored pencil coloring with embossed images. Click here for her card inspirations.

I then took my colored pencils in a variety of blues and filled in the lines. I love how well the colors showed up even on the black cardstock.

Once I was finished with the coloring, I added the image to a black card base. I used the sentiment for the Hero Arts To Seize of Not To Seize and gold heat embossed it so it would match with the card and used foam tape to pop it up. As a finishing touch I added a couple of sequins.
