Flowers Are Always a Good Idea

I hope you had a wonderful weekend. I’m over at the Shimmerz Paints blog today with this floral Valentines card using the some Vibez and Shimmerz.

I love how the Vibez work so well with each other and beautiful background they made for this card.

First of all, I must admit, I didn’t start out trying to make this background. I had this beautiful intricate die from Pinkfresh and the first time I used it, I realized it would be better if I used a shim with it to ensure crisp cutting. I grabbed a piece of watercolor paper and stuck it in with the paper I was die cutting. Out came a lovely die cut paper but also my watercolor paper with a beautiful embossing of the die.

The fine mist of the Vibez was perfect to bring out the delicate pattern on the paper without covering it up. While I waited for it to dry, I stamped the flowers from Pinkfresh with Versfine ink and clear heat embossed them on water color paper. I then watercolored them using Shimmerz Peacock Plume and Jilted Jade.

Once the flowers were dry, I fussy cut the images and then attached them to the dry card front with foam adhesive to give them some dimensions. I added this sentiment from the same PinkFresh set and white heat embossed it, attaching it with foam tape. To finish the card, I used a couple of clear sequins.
