I Can’t Adult

Some days its hard to be a parent or even be an adult. This past week was a hard one trying to get the kids back into the daily school schedule after a long Christmas break. Both of them were grumpy and my four year old was in tears several time during the day for random reasons, but mostly because she was tired. I’m tired and the darker winter days isn’t helping either, I need a nap.

Sometimes you just need a card to help a mom get through the day. So with the new A Blog Named Hero Challenge being Crafter’s Choice, I decided to make the following card.

I’m totally feeling this sentiment right now and thought it paired well with the momma elephant. I started off by stamping the images on some white card stock and masking the baby elephants so I could include more. I used a variety of the gray inks since these are layering stamps with all the fun details.

Now if I would have had more sleep I think I would have made a better decision on the background and used some Copics. Instead, I used some Distress Oxides to blend around the elephants and added touches of grass using color pencil.

I stamped the sentiment in Versmark ink and white heat embossed it. I wanted to make it stand out a bit more, so added some white gel pen around it. To finish the card, I added some white Nuvo drops and attached it to a gray card base.
