Best Wishes Magnolia

Happy November! We have a new Challenge over at The Flower Challenge.

Here is my Design Team card for the challenge.

Just a quick note that if you are going to join us on the challenge, don’t forget to use Flowers as the MAIN feature on your card. Also check out the other gorgeous cards from the Design Team here.

For this card I started by stamping the Magnolia image from The Ton Stamps on some watercolor paper and then heat embossing it in rose gold.

I then took out some Daniel Smith Watercolors and started playing around with different colors. I started painting with the darkest color where I knew there would be more shadows. I then used the lighter colors on pulled the color out with a wet brush. I added a pink to the purple and love the color I got.  I did the same thing with the blue for the background and added a little of the pink to give it a pink glow.

I finished the card with a little gold spray and then stamped the sentiment. I got a little lazy at the end and thought I could get away stamping the two sentiment lines together. Ugh! The crooked second line pains me and didn’t line up well. Lesson learned, take my time, even at the end.

I used a couple of sequins to add a little more shine and then adhered it to a light blue card base.

Thanks for stopping by and I can’t wait to see what you make for this fun challenge!

  1. The color you mixed using purple and pink looks like magenta, my favorite!!!
Very artistic with the background and golden splatters! Crooked sentiment happens to me all the time! It says the card is hand made with love :)!
