It’s time for a new challenge at A Blog Named Hero and this month we are going Monochromatic.
I love blues, so I decided to color this Peonies Stamp from Hero Art in various shades of blue on some navy cardstock.
I first stamped the image in fade out ink in my MISIT and then proceeded to color. I focused on coloring the pedals individually. First, I laid down a light white layer and then focused on the shadows using the darker blue. I blended it out with lighter blues.
I felt that the flower was a little too dark, and so I put the base back in my MISTI and stamped the image with some Versamark in order to heat emboss the image in blue. The flower is still a bit dark for the base and next time I would use lighter shades of blue pencil. Lesson learned ;-).
I stamped the sentiment in a light blue embossing powder and added it to a light blue card base. To finish it off I added some sequins for some extra shine.
I hope you have a chance to play along with us this month and I can’t wait to see what you create!

I think you are way too hard on yourself as I loved your card and thought it was lovely! Thanks for sharing it with us. I did some of that coloring on wrapping paper that I received on a gift and it came out so pretty. Made very pretty cards but using the white first really helps.
