A Mum’s Hug

I’m over at A Blog Named Hero with the shimmery card today.

I hope that you are having a great Monday. It’s the first day back to school for one of my kiddos and getting back into the routine is always a bit rough. Thankfully, I have a sparkly Mum (instead of Mom) hugs card to send with her, as starting a new year is always a little daunting.

I started out stamping this beautiful Mum in Versamark ink and then heat embossed it in silver. I then used Hero Arts watercolors to loosely watercolor the flower. I wanted the background to be a little brighter so I added in some light blue Color Bursts with some Platinum Mineral Burst for the background. I then die cut the flower to attach to a black card base that I had sprayed with some shimmery silver spray.

I took the hugs die from the March Kit and die cut some silver glitter paper as well as some black foam and adhered them together to add a little dimension to the card. I also added a little more silver spray to the flower to add a little more shine.

Hopefully a little card will help her first day back to school a little easier.
