The Flower Challenge #21

Its the beginning of June which means it is time for another awesome challenge over at The Flower Challenge. This month’s theme is:

There were so many fun choices but I decided to go with Challenge #11 Focus on Background Stamping.

Here is my card to highlight background stamping.

To start, I stamped this Hero Arts Flower Cut Out cling stamp (a friend had so generously sent me) in Versmark ink on Bristol Smooth paper and white heat embossed it. I then used my Distress Oxides in Wild Honey, Picked Raspberry, Seedless Grape, and Salty Ocean and blended them over the heat embossed images. I spritzed some water onto the background. I then took my Prismacolor Pencils and added some shading to the flowers in the middle.

For the sentiment, I used the Block Words from Ellen Hutson and die cut it into the paper. I added foam tape to the back of the letters in order to give it more dimension and added the bottom sentiment heat embossed in white. To finish the card I added some sequins.

I also made another card using the same technique.

For this card I used Distress Inks in Evergreen Bough, Cracked Pistachio, Spun Sugar, and Picked Raspberry.
