The Flower Challenge #20 Acetate/Vellum

It’s the beginning of May and with that comes a new challenge over at The Flower Challenge. This month the challenge is to use Acetate/Vellum. I hope you enjoy my card and are inspired to play along with us.

For this card I decided to make a shaker with some acetate in my stash. I typically don’t make shakers cards, but I should because this was lots of fun.

I started with The Ton’s Sending Peonies and heat embossed it in gold. I then colored the flowers with Zig markers. Once the flowers were dry, I used the coordinating die to cut the images out. I also took a panel of card stock and die cut a frame out and blended in Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink into the background. I wanted a little softer color, so I added a little Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide to the edges and spritzes it with water to lift some of the ink off.

To assemble my shaker, I first adhered my die cuts to the frame and added my sentiment in gold embossing. Then, I took some acetate and cut it large enough to cover the square. Once that was adhered, I used foam tape to frame the square as well as the back of my card. I used some sequins in my stash and added it on top of the acetate. I then carefully placed the card base on top so that none of the sequins escaped.
