Purple Inspiration

Today I’m playing along with the Altenew April Inspiration Challenge with some new stamps I received this week.

The first card I made for the challenge is using this beautiful Persian Motifs set.

I love these flowers and they are gorgeous heat embossed in gold. I stamped the flowers using Versamark ink in my MISTI and then heat embossed them in gold. I used Winsor & Newton Watercolor Pens and painted the flowers. I love the deep pigment in these easy to use pens.

Once the colors were dry, I used the coordinating dies to mask off the flowers so that I could spray the background with some gold. Then I used the Label Love set to stamp the sentiment in Versafine ink. I adhered the sentiment with some foam tape and I also took a black marker around the sentiment to cover any white corners.

For my second card, I used the Dodec die and ran it through with some Bristol Smooth paper in my Big Shot. I loved the pattern and decided to keep it intact, and glued the whole image to a white cardbase.

Then I took Distress Ink in Victorian Velvet, Seedless Grape, and Wilted Violet and blended them onto the card. I wanted to add a little sparkle, so I took out my glue pen and purple micro-fine glitter and added it to portions of the card.

I added the sentiment on black and white heat embossed it and some Purple Rain Nuvo Glitter Drops at the end.

For my last card, I used and an older set, Wild Hibiscus, to make a Mother’s Day card.

I had made this background with a bunch of others and thought it would be perfect for a Mother’s Day card. For the background, I used glossy photo paper and distress oxides spritzed with water. I love making background with Distress Oxides and using Distress Mico Glaze to reveal the beautiful colors. For more info on how to create these background check out this post. After the background was dry, I used my MISTI to stamp the images and sentiment in Versafine Ink and clear heat embossed them. Note that your heat tool should be extra hot and work quickly as it will melt the glossy paper a bit. (see below but I like this crackled look. I added some Crushed Grape Nuvo drops at the end for some embellishments.
