Put A Flower On It

We are celebrating another challenge over at A Blog Named Hero. This month is one of my favorites because I love working with flower images.

Here is my card for the challenge.

I stamped the Antique Rose Stem in Versmark ink and heat embossed the image on watercolor paper. I masked the top image and repeated the process so that I would have two flowers on the bottom.

I then used my Hero Arts Liquid Watercolor in Deep Ocean and painted the flowers. I wanted the flowers to be soft and used clean water to pull the color around the petals. I used the pine green in the same way for the leaves.

Once the image was dry, I die cut the panel with a stitched rectangle.

I then die cut the hello sentiment four times and glued them together to give it some depth. Then I took my Versamark ink pad and smoothed it onto the die and heat embossed it with the HA’s Silver Sparkle. (included in the March 2018 kit) I added several layers of the embossing powder to give the hello a thicker look.

I added some sequins, which was also included in the HA’s March Kit to give the card a slight sparkle.
