Have you joined in with the March Challenge at A Blog Named Hero? I’m going to be honest this was a hard one for me since there are so many wonderful Hero Arts products. Right now I’m loving the Liquid Watercolors. There are so many ways to use these fantastic, bold colors, I especially love using them to make backgrounds.
Here is the first card I made for the challenge using this adorable bunny set.
For the background, I used some watercolor paper and placed some drops of the Pine Liquid Watercolor on my craft mat. I then took a plastic sheet and smooshed the watercolor around on my paper. I then repeated the steps with both the Indigo and Deep Ocean colors, drying each layer in between. Once the color was dry, I used my floral stencil with some transparent embossing paste to give the background a little texture. I added some Faded Jeans Distress Oxide around the edges to give the panel more depth.
I then stamped the color layering bunny in Ground Espresso Distress Ink and stamped the detail layer in black ink. I added the white dot to the eye with a gel pen. I then stamped the coat in Faded Jean Distress ink and sprayed and blended it with a little water. I die cut both images out and attached the bunny with some foam tape. I then attached a little white pompom, because every bunny needs a fuzzy tail. The sentiment is from an older set called My Happy, and I added some green sequins for a little shine.
For my second card using the liquid water colors, I stamped the background in Versamark ink and added white embossing powder. I then took the liquid watercolors in Pine, Indigo, and Deep Ocean and added drops on my craft mat and misted with water. I then dipped my card base around in the gorgeous color. Once that dried, I stamped the sentiment in Versmark ink and white heat embossed it. Every birthday card needs a little bling so I added some fun sequins and splattered a little white paint on the card too.
