Hello Foxy

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas, thanks for stopping by my blog. For my last post of the year, I’ve made two cards using The Ton’s Hey Foxy stamp set. I’m playing along with their monthly challenge which can be found here.

ton moodI wanted to use the Hey Foxy set since there was this snow covered fox in the mood board.

For my first card, I used some watercolor paper and Ken Oliver Color Burst in Turquoise and Pthalo Green. Once it was dry, I used some white acrylic paint spray to give the background a snowy look. I took the two foxes and stamped them in Versafine ink on some Bristol Smooth paper and clear heat embossed them. I forgot to use my powder tool before I embossed, so some of the powder also ended up on the foxes. But I wanted to give them a snowy look so I didn’t bother brushing off the excess. I then used some Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens and watercolored the foxes. I fussy cut the foxes out and used some foam tape to adhere them to the card. The sentiment came from the same set and is white heat embossed on some black cardstock. For added bling, I used some clear sequins.

For my second card I wanted to try to copy the northern lights look.

I used Bristol Smooth paper and Color Bursts. First I used the Chartreuse and wet my paper with a paint brush to get a line. I lightly dusted the color on top of the water and gently sprayed some water. Once that was dry, I used Orchid and Violet for the purple portion. Once that was dry, I sprayed some white acrylic spray on the image and watered the look down a bit. To highlight the northern light look I used some liquid metals to make it a little shiny. Once the whole background was dry, I took the black Zig pen and made some trees in the background.

I stamped the foxes on some Bristol Smooth paper in a light gray and then watercolored them. This gave them a softer look, perfect for the snow. I fussy cut them and adhered them to the card with foam tape. The sentiment is from the Holiday Love set and is white heat embossed.

Have a wonderful weekend and a very Happy New Year!

P.S. I also entered this in the MarkerPop Challenge #133 found on Facebook here.
