Hugs

I’m playing along today with The Ton Challenge for June.

I decided to play with the Brushed Hugs stamp and made two cards. This is a gorgeous stamp and I love how large the sentiment is on the card.

I first started out using my MISTI and inked half of the stamp with Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide on Bristol Smooth paper and then masked the portion and inked up the other half of the sentiment in Picked Raspberry Distress Ink. This gave the sentiment a two tone look. I then used my Versamark Embossing Pen to outline the stamp and clear embossed it. I then used Peacock Feathers and Chipped Sapphire Distress ink to blend color into the paper. After blending the colors, I took a paper towel and laid it on the card and a hot iron and melted off the embossing powered so it wasn’t as shiny.

I then stamped the Mini Flutter from The Ton in Grey ink and added some white gel pen highlights and glossy accents onto the butterfly. I die cut the cardstock using Reverse Confetti Lacey Scallops die and adhered it to some pink cardstock and added some clear droplets.

My second card used the same technique and colors but I just revered the colors for the sentiment and background. For the sentiment I actually colored it with Zig pens and misted it before stamping on the paper. I added some little accent flowers on the bottom and highlighted them with the white gel pen.
