Peonies & Magnolias 

I’m playing along with the Ellen Hutson June Pin-Sights Challenge today. I made two cards using the color prompts of the challenge.

For my first card, I used the Essentials by Ellen Mondo Peony and the Concord & 9th Happy Words & Stripe Builder on Strathmore Watercolor paper.

I first stamped the stripes in Picked Raspberry Distress Ink and spritzed the stripes with water before stamping them.

For the peonies, I took a separate paper and stamped the Peonies in Versamark ink and white heat embossed them. I smooshed the Spiced Marmalade and Picked Raspberry on the paper with plastic, letting each layer dry before adding more ink. I did the same thing  for the leaves with Mowed Lawn Distress Ink.

Once the image dried, I die cut them and attached them to the card. For the sentiment I used Concord & 9ths Happy Everything set and stamped it in Ranger Archival Ink Tiger Lilly. Once it was dry I added a layer of Versamark Ink so that I could clear heat emboss it. I die cut the panel and attached it to an A2 Card base.

For my second card, I used the Essentials by Ellen Mondo Magnolia set. I love this flower It’s so fun and easy to use.

I stamped the magnolia in Spun Sugar Distress Ink on Strathmore Watercolor paper and masked it. I repeated the stamping two more times and then took out my Kurtake Gansai Tambi watercolors and painted the flowers. Once the flowers were dry, I added some yellow-orange around the flowers. I splattered a little white paint to the card. The sentiment is from Reverse Confetti Walk by Faith and was stamped in Versamark ink and then white heat embossed. I die cut a panel out and adhered it with some tape to give the card a little more dimension. At the end I added some Tonic Nuvo Drops in White to finish off the card.
