Summertime 

Summer is here! The kids are out of school which means not as much time for crafting but also I don’t have to get up super early and get them ready for school. (I hate making school lunches, so yippee for that too!)

Since it is the first weekend of summer for us, I decided to make a summer card. I’m also playing along with the Reverse Confetti Sketch #48 since they have several really fun summer stamp sets.

Here is my final card, it was a little hard to get a good picture with all the shine from the Glossy Accents.

I used the RC Seaside set and some pattern paper from my stash by Carta Bella called Beach Boardwalk.

I started out by stamping the whale in RC Aqua, the anchor in RC Iced Aqua, and the crab in RC Brick. I wanted to give them a little shimmer so I used a Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen and some Glossy Accents.

I wanted to make a different style of opening for my card and so took some cardstock and cut it to 9 1/4″ x 5 1/2″. I then scored the card at 2″ and 6″. (I started out with blue but then switched to a yellow orange)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I wanted to go with the wave design on my pattern paper and cut the card flap to match the wave.

 

 

 

 

 

 

I took some dark blue card stock and the Simon Says Wavy Scallop Stitches die and cut a simplistic wave for the top part.

I adhered the characters with some Zip Dimensional Dots and stamped the sentiment in Versafine Black ink and clear heat embossed it to give it a little shine. I added some Clear Droplets from Pretty Pink Posh to finish the card.
