Essentials by Ellen

I’m playing along with the Essentials by Ellen April Pin-Sights Challenge. You can find more details here:

I love the colors in this challenge  and so I made a couple cards.  I used the beautiful Mono Hydrangea set for my first card since the colors of the challenge seemed perfect for these beautiful flowers.

I did some no line watercoloring by stamping on some Bristol Smooth paper and using Antique Linen Distress Ink. I took some Prismacolor Watercolor pencils and outlined the flowers and then moved the color up the flower.

I used my MISTI to stamp the sentiment in Ranger Lavender Fields Dye ink and used some Versamark ink to stamp on top and clear emboss the sentiment. As a finishing touch I used some Sweet Lilac Crystal Nuvo drops around the sentiment.

For my second card I used the Oh Frappe set, because who doesn’t love a little Latte.

First I took some Canson Watercolor paper and sprinkled water and Lemon Yellow Color Burst on the paper. Once that layer dried, I used added a little Fushia Color Burst and watered it down to give it a lighter look. Once it was dry, I took the Reverse Confetti Lacy Scallop Frame Die to add some dimension to the paper.

On a separate piece of water color paper I stamped the coffee cup from the Oh Frappe set in Antique Linen Distress ink to do a little more no line watercoloring. I took the Violet Zig marker and traced the lines in purple and the added more color to shade the cup. I added Crushed Grape Crystal Nuvo drops as an embellishment along with the sentiment and some glossy accents to the heart of the cup. I glued the background to purple card stock to add a little more purple to the card.

Hope you enjoyed the two cards. Check out the challenge for more inspiration!
