I’m playing along with the Altenew Inspiration Challenge and made this card using the Hennah Elements. This is the first stamp set I purchased from Altenew and love the look of these flowers.
I had seen a card from Kathy from the Daily Marker that inspired my design for this one. Here is her gorgeous card, I loved the layout and beautiful coloring.
The flowers reminded me of this set from Altenew.
So I started off using some Copic friendly paper, Brutus Monroe Detail ink and my MISTI. I masked a portion of the area off with some blue painters tape (later found that was a mistake I won’t make again) and took the stamp and arranged them on my paper. I love the MISTI because I was able to stamp the flower images a couple of times and get clean crisp lines. I masked the images until I came out with a similar design as on both sides of the paper.
Here is where I ran into a little trouble, I tried taking the tape off the paper and it stuck too well and tore off the first layer. So instead of re-stamping everything, I took out my paper trimmer and trimmed off the blue tape to get two small panels. I colored the images with a similar color scheme as the challenge and brought in the yellow with this sentiment from Honey Bee’s Hello Gorgeous stamp set. I didn’t have any yellow empbossing powder, so instead I used yellow ink and then Versamark ink on top and clear heat embossed the image.
Here is my finished card. I decided to give the card a little more pop of yellow my coloring the white space and adding yellow washi tape. I traced all the images in black as well as added some Nuvo drop and white gel pen to the flowers. Thanks for stopping by.
P.S. I also entered the card in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.
