Mother’s Day Card

I can’t believe it’s almost the end of March which means its officially spring and Mother’s Day is coming up. In anticipation of both, I’ve been coloring a lot of flowers.

Altenew has a wonderful selection of both layering images and images to color. Today, I’m playing along with their Inspiration Challenge and decided to color some flowers from their Beautiful Day Stamp Set.

I started by using my distress inks in Ripe Persimmon, Mustard Seed and Barn Door and stamped the flowers on some Strathmore Bristol Smooth Paper. I then took some Tombow Dual Brush Markers and some Zig Clean Color Brush Pens and watercolored the flowers.

IMG_3096I used a rectangle die and cut the base down. Since I was making a Mother’s Day card, I found the perfect sentiment in Altenew’s Wild Hibiscus stamp set. Once I stamped it in Versamark Ink and clear embossed it, I added some Black Nuvo Crystal Drops to complete my card.
